I thought the kelpies between the BBC and the Science Centre deserved another attempt. I was happy with the last shot of them...for a while. But it didn't have any staying power. So here's a version with very different light.
The sun's just set behind the IMAX dome, and the BBC studios behind me are giving a contrasting light to the near side. I like the way the Science Centre looks. I wish there weren't trees growing out of the far kelpie's head! I don't want to shift left or right, but maybe getting right down would've given a better angle (but I'm not sure that that wouldn't make the near kelpie look awkward). Maybe it needs another attempt. Maybe I should take my own light next time.

Squinty Bridge
This evening I was trying to find some new views of the Squinty Bridge. There are lots of great angles on the bridge, and lots of them are clichés. Actually, maybe tropes would be a better word. Because they are great angles. It's just that they're used a lot. Goodness knows I've shot those same angles myself, and done pretty well from them too. They're the views that people want, and that's great! But it's good to at least try to do something different. The real trick will be to find a view of the bridge that's both different and as attractive as the tropes!

Desensitization Therapy
I don't much care for having my picture taken. Nor taking my own picture. Or seeing my own picture. Really should try to get over that!

The Dog-Eat-Dog World of Competitive Trees
I wonder if they can compete again in 4 years, like the Olympic cycle. Or whether they'll have to wait for the Queen's 75th year.

Christmas Treats
On one of the memorial benches in the park someone has placed a touching collection of christmassy things: a wreath, chocolate santas, candy canes and fruit.
And it's not been pinched. Not even the beer.
Well done, Glasgow!
